The sheer joy of making things. Programming is fundamentally about creating solutions to problems. At the end of the day, you have created something that didn’t exist that morning, and that is in and of itself satisfying.
Learning is a strong reason why people love to travel. They want to experience something unfamiliar and leave with new skills or knowledge.
Photography helps me to remember my life and the people in it, the places I visit, the things I love, in far greater detail, colour, and depth than if I had not taken a photograph! Being able to record memories is one major reason why I love photography.
The pleasure of making things that are useful to other people. One of most satisfying aspects of the job as a programmer is seeing code you wrote deployed in a live system and used by actual people, especially if it improves their lives in some way.
Another reason why people love to travel: it helps open your mind. I realize that there’s no one way to live life.
My camera is my best friend and I take it with me every time I step out of the house. Photography has helped me see new places, make new friends, discover unknown facets about myself. It has helped me make connections with the world, with people, and with myself.
